About Manuel Toledo

Manuel Toledo Otaegui is a multidisciplinary producer, designer, and creative strategist working at the intersection of culture, media, architecture, and immersive technologies. With over a decade of international experience, he specialises in shaping and delivering high-impact cultural programmes that combine strong creative vision with robust operational and business thinking.

He is the Co-Founder and Programme Director of the Architecture Film Festival London, an internationally recognised platform exploring the relationship between the built environment, film, and contemporary culture. He also co-organised ArqFilmFest in Chile, contributing to the development of one of Latin America’s pioneering architecture and film initiatives.

Manuel’s practice bridges creative direction and strategic management. He holds a Bachelor of Design from Design Academy Eindhoven, focused on public space design practices, and a Master’s degree from Rotterdam Business School, where his research focused on innovative business models for media companies, reinforcing his ability to build sustainable, future-oriented cultural projects.

His professional background includes research and collaboration with leading academic and design institutions such as TU Delft (Design for Sustainability Chair) and ETH Zürich (Urban-Think Tank Chair), grounding his work in critical thinking about cities, public space, cultural impact and sustainable design.

He led the production of Immersive Tech Week until 2026, spearheading the immersive programme at De Doelen, while overseeing multidisciplinary teams, partnerships, and large-scale programme delivery. He also participated as a researcher in the VOXReality project, contributing to interdisciplinary research on immersive media, storytelling, and emerging audiovisual formats.

Manuel is particularly valued for his ability to translate complex ideas into compelling cultural experiences, align creative ambition with organisational strategy, and operate confidently across international, cross-sector environments.
